I’m Mark. I’m a business guy. After decades in the seat, I now advise small and midsize businesses on strategies and systems, processes and procedures, and performance metrics. The work I do engenders responsiveness, resilience and sustainable growth for my client’s business.
I do this through my corporate entity, Stratify.
- I know how business works. Learned the hard way.
- My back-of-house covers construction, manufacturing, consulting, and biotech.
- My front-of-house includes governance, business management and administration, research/ development/ extension services, sales, and engineering (the original type, with nuts and bolts).
- I’m on the for-profit side of business and have been for pretty much my whole working life.
- I look at most things in life through the bifocals of cause and effect. Simple yet effective.
- I was raised in a Presbyterian household and even though I no longer participate, that sect’s values are my foundation.
I write, as well. Mainly about businessy things. This website is where I put some of my work, articles and notes initially published on other platforms (mainly LinkedIn, Substack, Medium).
It’s not everything I write. It’s not published at the same time as the original, either. Because I take any feedback I get and try to make each piece better. I aim for succinct. I want it to be the best it can be, and I don’t want excess words in the way.
